The Partnership for Rural Improvement (PRI) is continually adding new programs to meet its objectives. Current programs include:
Incubator development: PRI is providing technical assistance to two organizations working to establish business incubators in the Twin Harbors:
Port of Willapa: The Port of Willapa is located on Highway 101 between the communities of Raymond and South Bend in Pacific County. The Port is working with consultants to determine the feasibility of developing a business incubator on its land that is targeted at developing architectural and artistic products. PRI's involvement includes establishing business courses, seminars and operating materials for incubator tenants.
Columbia-Pacific Resource Conservation District: Columbia-Pacific RCD is developing plans for a "virtual incubator" to assist start-up companies with operating help while they become established. PRI's involvement includes survey and technical assistance.
Curriculum feasibility: PRI is working with the Pacific County Economic Development Council to determine the feasibility of establishing a culinary curriculum to resolve workforce needs of area restaurants.
Floral Cooperative: PRI is working with WSU Extension to determine the feasibility of developing a floral cooperative for the cut flower and bulb producers in the area.
Technical assistance: PRI is providing technical assistance to WSU Extension as needed to bring resource based economic development to the area.
Business assistance: PRI is actively working to develop templates, instructions and workbooks to help businesses deal with regulatory issues, such as, business expansion, air and water regulations, workforce requirements, etc. As they become available, they will also be posted on this site.
