Saving on Lab computers-
The computers are set up with software that will restore all memory and settings
at start up. If you save something to the desktop, when you restart the computer
it will be gone! If you need to save information but lack a disk you can
save the information to your folder on the server.
STEPS: Choose "Save As" then Click the down arrow accross
from "Save in" scroll down and select "Vol3 on 'Instruct'" Double click on the "USERS" folder.
Double click on the folder with your name and then "Save". You may access this
folder from any computer lab on campus.
Computer Freezes up when working on document-
Software installed on the campus computers seem to lock up the computers when
working off the 3 1/2 inch floppy drives. To overcome these problems do not
work directly off the disk, but instead save the disk information to "My
Documents" and work off of that. Once you are done then save it back to the
disk. This will help prevent the computer from freezing up.
I left my disk in the computer-
Sometimes people leave disks in the computers. If a disk is left in a computer
the lab assistant will place the disk on the dry erase board at the front
of the room. Check the dry erase board for lost disks.
