Evaluation
Because the college's goal is to offer the highest quality classes possible, and because informed review is a good basis for program improvement, all courses are part of a program evaluation process.
During the seventh week of the quarter, a student survey (example enclosed) for your course will be sent to you with instructions for its distribution to your students. Please return the survey as soon as possible.
The
anonymous survey will be machine tallied, and the results will be shared with you
as soon as possible after the end of the quarter.
Survey
results most often confirm excellent performance. Results often are the basis for productive discussion. Results are, of course, confidential.
Your
class will be visited at least once per year.
The instructional manager who supports your effort will usually visit
your class. If you are teaching a
college credit course which supports a GHC transfer degree at an off campus
site, a full time member of the division in which you teach will visit your
course This visit's purpose is to demonstrate high interest in your class to
you and your students. It is a very
positive component of the program development and improvement process. Results of the visit will be shared with
you, and your input will be a valuable part of the evaluation process that
will be reviewed by your instructional manager.
STUDENT COURSE EVALUATION
Please respond to the following
questions completely and honestly – your responses may be used for tenure
review, instructional improvement and/or curricular revision.
These forms will be delivered to the office of the vice president
for Instruction in a sealed envelope in order to ensure your anonymity. Your instructor will not have access to your
responses until after the end of the quarter.
For questions 1-17, match lettered choice with the corresponding lettered box using the attached scantron, please mark your choices with a #2 pencil.
