Riverview Education Center

The Grays Harbor College District includes all of Pacific and Grays Harbor Counties. Historically, the College has delivered excellent educational opportunities to the residents of Grays Harbor County. Those same opportunities, however, had not been readily available to people residing in Pacific County.

In early 1999, a group of local activists formed the Friends of GHC on the Willapa to lobby GHC officials to purchase and renovate a surplus Raymond elementary school. Their vision included the conversion of the structure into a GHC higher education center. With strong financial support and enthusiastic interest from Pacific County residents, the purchase was completed in late 1999. Renovation of the historic Riverview Education Center was completed in Fall 2001.

"The college is an enormous attraction for people and businesses coming into the area and it is a necessary convenience," according to Paul Grabski, charter member of Friends of GHC on the Willapa, '89 alumnus and former President of Associated Students of Grays Harbor College.
