Getting involved with Student Government is an amazing opportunity for growth, education, and leadership. The requirements are: All members must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 in order to qualify for candidacy. Once elected, all members must maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5 while in office.

You qualify to run for a Freshman Senate position if you have completed no more than 44 credit hours. The Freshman position elections are in October of each year.

To qualify to run for a Sophomore Senate or Executive Officer position, you must have completed at least 27 credit hours exclusive of the quarter of elections. Executive officers include: President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. The elections for these positions are held in the Spring quarter for the following school year.

For the 2004/2005 school year, Sophomore candidate petitions are available on Monday, April 19th. The completed petitions are due by Friday, April 23rd. Elections will be held on Wednesday, May 5th. The terms begin the day after graduation and continue for the entire school year.


Clubs, Organizations, and Athletics are open to all interested students with the exception of the honor societies. Contact the advisor for the organization you're interested in for more details about meeting times and places or click here.

Interested in volunteering to serve on a college committee? There are many opportunities available to be of service to the college; and student input is highly valued! Being on a college committee, whether a faculty tenure committee or otherwise, is a great resume addition! get the experience and get an edge!
