Associated Students of GHC Welcomes You!
My name is Zackrie Vinczen, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for electing me as your Student Body President. This is a position that comes with a great amount of responsibility, and I am honored to have been selected to fill it.
With that said, I am very grateful to have the assistance of a team of outstanding individuals on the A.S.G.H.C. Student Council for the 09-10 school year. I feel that our collective perspective will allow us to effectively address the needs of students here at Grays Harbor College.
Grays Harbor College has a reputation for facilitating a wide variety of learning experiences. As a result of the opportunities available to students at G.H.C., individuals from all walks of life have made the choice to change their lives through education. While this choice is not always the easiest one, it is important to remember that the faculty you work with are not here to hinder you but rather to challenge and support you. Make use of the resources that they have to offer, and become an active part in your education. In doing so, you will find that the experience gained through your time here at G.H.C. has not only prepared you for a career path or further schooling but also for life.
In addition to the support that your faculty may have to offer, it is important to remember that there is a whole network of support services available to students here at G.H.C. These services range from free tutoring and writing advice in our learning center to open computer labs and access to fitness facilities. We also have a counseling center where you can get help planning your future. In addition to these services, you may want to stop by the TRiO Office to see if you qualify for the many support services that they offer.
Getting involved in clubs is a good way to apply skills you have learned in the classroom. It is also a good chance for you to develop new abilities and make new friends. With a wide array of clubs already established on our campus, I encourage you to express your interest and get involved. If you don’t see a club you want to join, start a new one. For more information on how to do this stop by the 200 building, and visit the A.S.G.H.C. office.
While in the 200 building see what the Gray’s Harbor Activities Board (G.H.A.B.) is working on. Both the A.S.G.H.C. and G.H.A.B. almost always have something exciting happening in our offices, so stop by and see how you can get involved.

We would like to help you feel more comfortable and prepared by providing this checklist!
Once you have checked everything off you will be well on your way to being an informed and successful GHC Student! Make it a great year!
